Description

The green turtle (Chelonia Mydas) is a species of sea turtle in the family Cheloniidae. They come from the Galapagos Islands, they arrived to the fishing cove "El Ñuro" because of the traditional way of fishing (hook, bait and string). The turtles are fed by the fishermen with giant squid (pota).

The largest turtle weighs 120 kg and the smallest 15 kg, around the cove there are more than 320 sea turtles.

Swimming with turtles is something wonderful and unforgettable, it is an activity you should not miss if you visit Mancora. Turtles are very sociable animals that deserve a lot of respect and care from us towards them.
