Description

This is a great one-day adventure which allows you to discover the history of one of the wonders of the world, Machu Picchu, one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in the world. Travel by train through unique landscapes and explore its many enigmatic corners with your guide.

The citadel of Machu Picchu harmonizes with the natural landscape, being a space of great scientific and cultural importance for the Incas, it keeps in the deepest the sacred and enigmatic.

The citadel of Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful of the Inca empire because it was built to be the dwelling and refuge of the most select of the Inca aristocracy, the routes leading to Machu Picchu were forbidden to the common population, because its location was a military secret.

Itinerary

Two hours before the departure of your train we will pass by your hotel in the city of Cusco to transfer you to the train station located in the town of Ollantaytambo.

Then we will board the train and begin the journey to the village of "Aguas Calientes" (2,000 meters above sea level) where our guide will be waiting for you.

With it we will go to the bus station, to ascend 400 m. high, by a zigzagging path, during approximately 30 minutes, until we arrive "to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu", known as "The Lost City of the Incas".

Upon arrival at the citadel of Machu Picchu, our guide will start the guided tour, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries, for approximately two hours.

Then you will be given free time, to take a walk around the citadel and / or take your food, in one of the many restaurants in the town of Aguas Calientes (lunch is on the passenger's account).

In the afternoon/evening we will take the train back to the town of Ollantaytambo, (depending on the departure time of your train).

The return will follow the same route as the outward journey and when you arrive at the train station, we will be waiting to transfer you to the city of Cusco.
