Why Choose This Experience
Day 1:
Once you arrive at the bus station, we’ll be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name to take you to our main office, where you’ll board a tour bus that will take you to the Paracas National Reserve where we’ll begin the tour. We’ll explore the Isthmus of the Peninsula, one of the highest points in the reserve, offering a beautiful view of other beaches. Next, we’ll make our way to Playa Roja, a unique beach on the Peruvian coast known for its distinctive brick-red sand, and then continue on to Playa La Mina, where you’ll have some time to enjoy the beach. Finally, we’ll arrive at Playa Lagunillas, where you can have lunch. By 3:00 p.m., we’ll be back in downtown Paracas so you can check in and enjoy the hotel’s facilities.
Day 2:
At 7:00 a.m., we’ll have breakfast at the hotel, and we’ll be picked up to depart for the Ballestas Islands tour at 7:45. We’ll walk to the pier for the Ballestas Islands tour; our first stop will be the Candelabro, located on the Paracas Peninsula, then we’ll continue to the islands, where we’ll be able to admire the rock formations while the guide explains the local flora and fauna. You’ll be able to spot animals such as sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and various bird species, including boobies, guanay, cormorants, and zarcillos, among others. At the end of the tour, we’ll return to the starting point in the Chaco. Upon our return, we’ll have a short period of free time, and then we’ll meet again at the Paracas Explorer office to depart for Ica.
Once we arrive in Ica, we will be welcomed at the office, where we will be picked up to begin the Ica City Tour. We will start this tour at the Plaza de Armas in the city of Ica, where we can admire two beautiful obelisks that represent the two great cultures that flourished in the department of Ica (panoramic view).
We’ll continue on our way to the artisanal winery, where you’ll learn about the production of wine and pisco using traditional methods, and see the wine press used to crush the grapes. We’ll have some time here for lunch.
Our tour will continue with a visit to the Luren Shrine, where we’ll be able to see the current condition of the church following the August 2007 earthquake (Panoramic view) And we’ll end our tour at one of the most beautiful places in the Peruvian desert: Huacachina Lagoon, known as the “Oasis of the Americas”—a stunning spot surrounded by palm trees, huarango trees, and immense sand dunes, where you can experience the thrill of riding in buggies and try adventure sports like sandboarding.
