Paracas – Ica Full Day

The tour begins at the artisanal and tourist pier in El Chaco, where we board our speedboat and first take a look at the types of boats used for the two main activities in the district of Paracas: tourism and fishing.

We sail through Paracas Bay and see the largest peninsula in Peru. We then stop at a point on the northern tip of the Paracas Peninsula to view, photograph, and film the Candelabro, where the tour guide will briefly explain its dimensions, the materials found in the area, and its possible origin. The boat tour continues, and about 15 minutes after leaving the Candelabro, we arrive at the Ballestas Islands, home to a rich biodiversity thanks to the Humboldt Current and the upwelling phenomenon, as well as other factors such as sunlight and winds. Birdwatchers will find a wide variety of birds, including gulls, terns, boobies, cormorants, pelicans, vultures, and Humboldt penguins. You’ll also see crustaceans, echinoderms, mollusks, seaweed, and more. The star of the tour is definitely the sea lion, whose curious behavior captures everyone’s attention. The return trip is relaxing, and enjoying the sea breeze is a natural stress reliever.

Next, we’ll head to Ica, where we’ll visit a pisco distillery. There, we’ll take a tour of the winery and sample the fine wine and pisco produced there. Then we’ll visit the Plaza de Armas, where we’ll admire the two beautiful obelisks representing the two great cultures that flourished in the department of Ica, as well as the Sanctuary of Luren (panoramic view). Afterward, we’ll head to Laguna Huacachina to learn about its legend. For those who love adrenaline, you can ride on inner tubes through the dunes and try sandboarding—it’ll be a blast!
