Adventure in the Peruvian Andes: From Salkantay to Machu Picchu

Upon your arrival at the Arequipa airport, our team will meet you to assist you and transfer you to your selected hotel. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll have the rest of the day free to rest or explore the surroundings of this beautiful colonial city on your own.

Very early in the morning, we’ll set out on our journey to the Colca Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop in Yanque for breakfast, and then continue on to the famous Cruz del Cóndor, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the area. From there, you’ll be able to watch the majestic flight of the Andean condor and admire the vastness of the Colca Canyon.

After the visit, we’ll head to the Pampa San Miguel overlook to begin a roughly three-hour downhill hike to the community of San Juan de Chuccho, where we’ll enjoy lunch. Later, we’ll continue our journey to the Sangalle oasis, a place surrounded by nature where you can relax, enjoy the pool, and spend the night in cozy adobe bungalows.

Before sunrise, we’ll begin our ascent from the oasis toward Cabanaconde on a hike lasting approximately three hours. Upon arrival, we’ll have breakfast and continue our return journey to Chivay. Along the way, we’ll visit Yanque and stop at its hot springs to enjoy a moment of relaxation.

After lunch, we will return to Arequipa, stopping at several scenic spots along the way, such as the volcano overlook and the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve. We are scheduled to arrive in Arequipa in the afternoon.

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport to catch your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, our team will assist you and take you to your selected hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to rest and acclimate to the altitude.

Very early in the morning, we’ll depart from Cusco and head to Soraypampa. After breakfast, we’ll begin a hike through stunningly beautiful Andean landscapes, exploring the area near the lagoon and the imposing snow-capped Salkantay. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of mountains, valleys, and ravines.

After a break to rest, we’ll begin our descent toward Huayracmachay, where we’ll have lunch before continuing on to our campsite in Chaullay. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy dinner and a rest surrounded by nature.

After breakfast, we’ll continue our hiking route through the forest edge, a transitional zone teeming with vegetation, flora, and fauna. The hike will take us to the hydroelectric plant, where we’ll have lunch.

Later, we'll continue on to Aguas Calientes, the town located at the foot of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we'll have dinner and check into the hotel to get ready for the next day's visit.

In the morning, we’ll take a bus to Machu Picchu. Once at the citadel, we’ll take a guided tour of its most important areas, discovering the history, architecture, and mystery of one of the world’s most admired archaeological sites. After the tour, you’ll have time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings.

Later, we'll head down to Aguas Calientes to begin our return trip to Cusco, where you'll spend the last night of the trip.

At the agreed-upon time, we will transfer you from the hotel to the airport for your international departure flight, bringing this unforgettable adventure through southern Peru to a close.
